Leading Virtual and International Teams

This training is for executive managers in line functions or in projects. The focus is on targeted decision-making in international groups, effective communication with different business cultures, using productive disagreements and coordinating team efforts. Participants learn to:

•   define and reach goals,
•   optimise their own demeanour in a team,
•   use communication styles effectively and efficiently,
•   utilise difficult situations as an opportunity,
•   improve their language skills, when the training is conducted in English.

During the seminar, participants reflect on their practice of:

•   long-distance communication,
•   emotional intelligence,
•   mediation and
•   conflict resolution.

All input is based on participants' cases.

•     Participant's critical situations (Critical Incidents),
•     Models of communication in project realisation,
•     Co-ordinating project and team phases,
•     Strengthening motivation,
•     Handling difficult situations across cultures,
•     Diagnosing interests,
•     Selecting team members and assessing potential,
•     Strengthening skills of perception and persuasion,
•     Instruments of facilitation,
•     Technical management of video or telephone conferences,
•     Agreeing on targets and reaching them together,
•     Leading feedback talks,
•     Cultural characteristics from selected regions,
•     Role playing and simulations,
•     Staff coaching by the team leader.

Duration: 2, 2½ or 3 days

Location: In selected own rooms or in a hotel of choice
